Agent Swarm developer resources

Agent Swarm is open source and self-hosted. Each deployment runs its own REST API and MCP server, so there is no shared production endpoint to call. This page lists where each Agent Swarm developer resource lives, at stable URLs, for developers and for coding agents.

Agent Swarm API documentation

• Agent Swarm REST API reference covers the endpoints of a deployment: tasks, agents, workflows, memory, schedules, and webhooks.
• Agent Swarm OpenAPI specification is the machine-readable contract for the runtime API, kept in the open-source repository. A running deployment serves the same document from its own API host.
• Typed TypeScript client shows how to generate request and response types from that specification.

Agent Swarm API authentication

• API keys explains how a deployment issues the bearer keys that authenticate REST and MCP requests.
• Self-hosted SSO protects the dashboard and API with your identity provider through oauth2-proxy or trusted headers.
• OAuth for connections covers the OAuth flows a deployment uses to connect to third-party APIs and MCP servers.

Agent Swarm webhooks

• Webhooks API documents inbound webhooks that turn external events into tasks and workflow runs.

Agent Swarm MCP server

• MCP tools reference lists the tools a deployment exposes over Streamable HTTP at https://<your-deployment-host>/mcp.
• Harness configuration shows the headers an MCP client sends: a bearer API key, an agent ID, and a task ID.
• MCP server descriptor is the machine-readable server metadata for that deployment-specific endpoint.

Agent Swarm CLI

The official CLI is published on npm as @desplega.ai/agent-swarm. It installs the agent-swarm command. Run it without a global install with npx @desplega.ai/agent-swarm onboard, or bunx @desplega.ai/agent-swarm onboard with Bun. The CLI reference lists every command.

Agent Swarm resources for coding agents

• Operator skill teaches a coding agent to install, deploy, operate, and use a self-hosted swarm. Install it with npx skills add desplega-ai/agent-swarm.
• Agent Skills index lists the operator skill and the when-to-use guide, with SHA-256 digests.
• llms.txt is the navigation index for this site, and AI catalog lists every agent-facing resource on this domain.

Website utility API

This marketing site also serves a small unauthenticated API: a JSON index at /api, a consent-region lookup, the Open Graph image renderer, and read-only public content endpoints under /api/v1 that mirror the public MCP server at /mcp. Its OpenAPI description and versioning policy are separate from the runtime API above.
